OK, i watched that wranglerstar video...... and then I watched like 20 other videos of alaskan sawmills. SO BAD ASS!!!!!
one video I watched the guys were using an aluminnium ladder for a top guide, it worked pretty slick.
While I was very impressed with the ability to make giant sill beams & framing timber, I was wondering just how SMALL you could go? I have a bunch of beetle kill pine that I would love to have milled into interior trim for my house- The beetle kill gets this really cool looking blue patina on it, my neighbors did their floors out of it. When I explained to the better half how the chainsaw mill worked, showed her some video, and then told her you can get it for around $400 she asked why we don't already own one, lol.
A guy really could packmule that setup into the backcountry and build his fortress! I had never heard of this set up, but I am very interested now.
