I installed a Ondura roof on my shed a few years ago. When I put the nail in it, I put them in the "hill" part of the panel and not thew valley, as the metal roof video above.

 I would think this would lend itself to leaks, no?

I think it would be a bad spot for expansion and contraction and would end up failing over time with leaks
