That doesn't sound very long lasting. I wonder if you used a vinyl pond liner or the vinyl from a roadside billboard if that would water proof it enough. His set up is amazing but I would be constantly fearful of the wood getting soggy and falling apart. There goes your home/island/BOL all in one.
I was day dreaming yesterday about building one of these on the right lake that allows house boats or some such and giving a big FU to the man. No land taxes, etc.

this island...... I'm speechless!!! SO many questions.... is he anchored? how does he not end up in the middle of the ocean? ..... will the plants roots tear up his "base"?..... does he have to keep bringing in sand?...... where is he getting potable water?.... WHERE is he shitting???
