Sleep Safe Table

Handy

Fletcher Capstan Tables

I have made two Fletcher Tables so far in life and feel I have 2 more left in me to do. They are one of the hardest things I have ever done in the trades, gotta respect a challenge. Will try and find a picture of one I did in 1/4 saw White Oak around 2001.

Thanks for the link some really inspiring architectural furniture.

Will check it out. I had one come through the shop which was slated for a full refinish. Was built in the 1950's. I made/took drawings for dissemble and finishing.

We found a client to commission one being built and it was nice but the client wanted to milk paint it ... So I made her another one so the 1/4 Oak wouldn't be wasted.

The one in the other thread had metal gearing ours were designed wood gears, laser milled. The rest was solid wood with average thickness being 6/8. Total weight per table was around 800 pounds.

Will dig up photos next time I have access to hard-drives in Canada.
