how far of a distance can they extend a decent signal, looking to get wifi to the workshop, signal from the house is almost non existant but I am getting 3 bars from the business, looking to boost that signal.

I'll check with my brother in law, he's an EE. Two options that I know of:

1 - Amplify signal (different router, or some creativity)

2 - Physically run a line between point A & B (http://www.aliexpres.....-rzNVrrB6m)

3 - Wifi Extender - Place on the outermost wall closest to the desired point of use - You can also just move your router to this point and wire it back to your modem, no need to have them close).

4 - Wifi Repeater - If you get some signal but not a lot, you can install this where you want WiFi

thanks ICRI, we picked one up at walmart yesterday, it does help but still not ideal, I think I need to research a repeater as well
