One of the ideas for the contest of the month was to store important documents and such inside the aluminum beer bottle

I thought that was a fantastic use for it, but figured getting items in and out of the bottle would be hard, especially if you recapped it.

I noticed on the bottom of the bottle there is a perfect circle design around it. So I took a hacksaw and carefully cut the bottom off the can along the line.

I cut a small section of exhaust pipe and slid it into the bottom to act as a sleeve

and jb welded it

the bottom slides up in and the exhaust pipe stiffens the connection well

all assembled

it's not water proof at this point, but if you need to stash some stuff and place it in the back of your refrigerator it may bypass a quick search by a thief, peace

no kidding. my upstairs neighbors were robbed a year or two ago. All the guy took was liquor and a sleeping bag.

either it was a teenager looking to party with his gf or a desperate homeless guy

could leave it uncapped and set it by the recycling bin. Now if I can figure out how to make it water proof!
