It is a priority for my wife. Well, she first told me she needed another bathroom and I balked. Then she came back with a $100,000 addition. I am trying to take us back to just the half bath.
Here is the upper floor plan. It is a 1.5 story house -- the upstairs is within the trusses for the roof.

The only bathroom is more of a master bath -- you can get to it from the mud room or our bedroom. She wanted a 1/2 bath for guests and the kids. It can't go above the current bathroom -- the kids rooms our there. He is a picture of the one on the left -- the one on the right is a mirror image.
We've tried to think this through. We didn't think about additions when we designed and built the place. In hindsight I would have though about that -- it would make this process a lot easier.

I would add an additional room to the side of the house. Take out the window in the living room and make it a doorway and re use the window in the bedroom. Since there is no plumbing to worry about and it is off grid there is not too much expense. as child gets older and moves on take out the wall and have a larger living room space. I would also like to add, you have a great place.
