Very interesting. I've been thinking a lot over the last couple weeks on how to pull off an earth-sheltered greenhouse. I was thinking more along the lines of a rectangle with a higher northern wall and glass sloping down to the lower southern wall. Maybe make it a bit bigger on each end to accommodate good sized compost piles for easy access to good soil and some free warmth in the colder months. Even thought a wood stove flanked by some large water contains for thermal mass would help towards keeping it warm and avoid big temperature swings. Stove might be overkill/create some additional issues.
Mostly daydreaming, but I have a lot of research to do first.
