I did a very quick search here...didn't find the topic...I apologize if it's been done before.

Anyone have any experience or resource on them.

Just started thinking this may be a very cost effective way of dealing with air exchanges?

I know it's about pipes in the ground that come up in several locations in the living space...what size pipe? what type of pipe? how deep? how long a run? do you need to provide a vent somewhere?

Make sure you have a pitch all the way, Rob Roy ran into an issue when he put his in where he didn't and they had an issue with condensation pooling there which created mold, they were constantly snake it with a towel.

I would use solid 6 inch pvc, I have seen where they use perforated pipe but radon would scare me too much.

...dumb question...the pitch makes sense...1/4 a foot sound good?...and pitch away from house?

yes, even 1/12 should be good, as long as it can drain, also make sure you cap the ends with wire mesh so critters don't get in

I'll show ya when u come visit ..but i got them in place.  Def pitch away and down.  For a 100 ft length of 4" pipe,  it dropped 10'ish feet in elevation.  I have not paid the system much mind so far..the pipes are in place though, under umbrella .  So in time I will understand and play with this system more.  It does help for sure.  the temp that comes out of .

If radon did get in pipe, b/c its a heavy gas compared to air it would fall out the tube (provided it pitched downward/out ward from house).  I drilled holes in all the long sweep elbows I used, to drain any condensation.

I also have a set of tubes that go uphill...those are useless. i have sealed them off for time being b/c all the do is condense and put cooler /moister air in.  I'm going to play with this in the future as well...might just tie them into each other as a way to gain more surface area to under umbrella heat storage area and NOT having them go to outside to fresh air.

I've done it both ways and those are my thoughts.  😀

Okay .

So i did a bit of playing with the air tubes.  I took a thermometer reading outside yesterday of mid teens.  I then took that same thermometer and moved it to sit directly on the air tube (inside house) .  I put a towel over it but when i went to go measure it today i guess someone removed said towel.  The temp on the air tube hole was 50 degrees.  It was siting on floor grate that goes to the earthtube. The temp of inside the house was 60 this morning ...fire last night for few hours and we went to bed and it went out somewhere around 10 or 11pm.  So i guess it's buffering around 30-35 degrees.  If the towel was on it (separating thermometer from picking up on in house heat), i would get a more accurate reading of just the tube?  This is just playing, so ya know...
