Ok thanks Speed, can't wait to see them.  I did a lot of research last night.  Seems like the material cost isn't too bad, but the 50 ft or so trenches are an expense.  Also did a lot of research on ERV and HRV systems.  Pretty cost effective and I think simple to install in the knee wall, but they do require power.

When I see your set up Monday I think it will make better sense.  I am thinking that the HRV or ERV will be what I put in for the build.  And during the build I can put the earth tube delivery pipes in under the slab and just stub it through the side, that way I can dig them out, trench and connect them down the road.

Thanks man.

Cool Gravel...it is time intensive..but i guess everything i do is..maybe I'm just slow lol.  Look forward to showing ya what little there is to see.

Jeez K, it would seem adding one after the fact would be most difficult...but i guess you don't have a membrane on your berm which would make it easier.

I'm not exactly sure what to conclude yet on them...i still don't have the doors tight as I want to make fresh air a real issue?  I know they were a lot of work ...digging in really hard dirt and trying to fit 100' x 6 around the house is tricky/challenging....we will see.. I hope it will be worth it .

I had to go for it though, b/c i looked into the HRV unit...and for a grand you can do it taht way. Then it seemed like there was another gadget i had to clean the filter on ..power..etc  I cannot blame anyone for not doing it.  I'm pretty happy with the lower floor tubes (sitting flush with floor) that exit through south and drop the 10'.  It seems to always be fresh when I smell it... I can feel the draft, subtle at times, pulling.  I also feel better in a tight earth sheltered building to have a place for heavy earth gases to passively go away.

Yeah, plus I don't know if the time, energy and money would be worth it, would be interested to see if it helped with cooling in the summer though

I am kinda hooked on a HRV...the trenching for the earth tubes would be a big expense for me.
