Came across this that I thought was pretty nice, One of the few small tiny homes that offers a full size bath and kitchen, pricy at around 60,000-80,000 dollars but they consider at an RV and can get financing for it.
Might give some people ideas who are looking to downsize.

I really appreciate the simplicity of the design. Also, they're emphasizing the only three things that you should really have it for - eating, sleeping, and cleaning. Otherwise, go outside! Framing looks like a breeze... but all of that carpentry....
If 'getting outside' is an objective, why have a 'palace' INdoors?!? Yes basic functions are essential to have and laid out well too. However how can '$60-80K with financing' be anywhere near debt free living? And one has to remember that travel trailers have developed the best functional layouts in minimum space so why not simply buy one of the ones sitting on the side of a driveway or in a storage unit? Those will function as well and be lots cheaper too. Besides all that 'pretty carpentry' will get worn, go out of style AND depreciate (in value) more quickly than any one wants to admit.

But some people can't afford to be debt free or have the construction experience to build something of their own, I think something like this fills that gap.
If so, then the sad fact is that they SELF LIMIT and perhaps prefer to be debt slaves?!? Our first 'home' was an OLD travel trailer in a sub standard 'park'. BUT it was cheap 'rent' (less than 1/2 an apartment cost) and we managed to $ave $$ in several months for down payment on first house. As soon as we could realize equity, we leveraged 'up' until we got a decent nest egg to apply towards OUR own efforts, which by the way neither of us had experience with before. Yet with thought and diligent application of efforts, we achieved our debt free life. Wasn't easy, but we did all that we could to NOT lose ground by buying something that would depreciate while it served our needs. Is vehicles are in that category, but we learned how to minimize that by buying extremely well and maintaining use thru depreciation to maximum usage (aka payback). And we ain't super intelligent or gifted people, just doggedly determined to LIVE independent - at own expense and without cost to others. Doesn't seem like the mantra of the times though.
My personal motto - The Home, a peace worth fighting for.
