Rinkus has been telling me about these hippys building a double dome around us, I have been meaning to check it out, well today I had a chance.

I was driving out to the farm to grab some milk, so I drove down the road these domes were on. I slowly pulled up and someone was standing there working on the smaller dome. I debated for a minute and finally pulled int the driveway. I got out of my car and said excuse me sir.

The gentleman turned around and said yes.

I'm sorry for disturbing you

No problem he said.

Well I had built my own alternative house, and I found it frustrating at times for people that would impose themselves at the drop of the hat.

No problem, I like talking to people about what I'm doing.

So we spent the next hour or so walking around looking and discussing different things, told him what we were thinking of doing, he told me I should research rocket stoves, I had to LoL a little at that, Iwas like yeah, I know a little about rocket stoves.

I came >< close to giving him the site here to have him join, I might still do that.

Anywho, he's been building these domes since december, he has created the hubs himself out of plywood to save on money, he is currently working on his man cave and chicken coop

he has a motor home out there than him and his wife are going to move into in the spring, they are gonna build their main dome house farther up the hill, you can see his man cave is on skids so he can move it out behind the house when done, and if his wife ticks him off, he can drag it out into the woods, lol, awesome.

He said I could stop by any day and bring my tools, he will put me to work, I think I'm gonna do it! will report back

here is another little house on  the way out there, they are remodeling a house on the lot and they built this tiny cabin, they even have a little bee hive in the corner, pretty cool

that one I think is either a 20 or 24 foot, can't remember, it actually has a ton of room, there is a loft in it as well, but I didn't want to look like a japanese tourist, their main house is going to be bigger, lol, forgot to say, he invited me over for a campfire when it warms up, how often do you hear that in todays age?

I love those domes. Very easy to add another module down the line too.

When I was a kid, my parents were >< close to building a dome home. Eventually they decided to move to a place in a more suburban neighborhood when my mom got a job teaching in their school district. I always wonder how differently things would have turned out if my parents would have decided to go full hippy. Would I have long luxurious hippy hair right now? Sigh, I guess I'll never know.

Lol, while Im not afraid of the work, unfortunately growing long luxurious hippy hair has ceased to become an option at this point in my life.
