Not quite. Think I found the issue -- vacuum leak where the carb meets the manifold. A carb stud is stripped and I couldn't crank the carb down to seal onto the manifold. While running (poorly) I could spray carb cleaner around the carb/manifold mating area and the tractor would sound much better. I was just able to secure some studs yesterday that should work, although are slightly longer.
Didn't get a chance to try it out last night -- I was relocating the chicks to a bigger cardboard box. Man -- those things stink and love to foul their water and food.
