OK, I made some updates. Fender flares to stop mud from spraying the sides, front and rear LED lights, and I also installed a small console that has USB ports, a cigarette lighter, etc. for running our water sprayer that we use for watering Christmas trees. The lights are pretty bright and work well at night. All of the wiring took me 2 days because I had to disassemble the cart again, run wires in loom, zip tie everything, and cut holes in the front and rear of the body work for the lights.
** Just a word of caution when working on electric golf carts. I got careless when a neighbor was over and let two wires touch carrying 48Vs and I suffered a nasty burn on my left hand. Just an FYI that it can happen very quickly and it is super hot -- can melt steel. I am OK and will heal up just fine, thank goodness. **

We haven't driven it long enough to find a limit to its distance. I've heard of people driving 10+ miles with them. I may drive it 2 miles and back someday soon to see how it goes.
I couldn't believe it but I had my trailer loaded up with 2 yards of mulch and the golf cart pulled it just fine. I was amazed.

I was also amazed that it could use my 35 gallon water sprayer and have enough juice to drive around and run the pump for 1.5 hours while I watered the Christmas trees last night. I didn't see any degradation in performance after driving it back home. I've very happy with the build. @Speedfunk -- you were right!
@porkchopsmmm Cool man cool!! I'm really happy its working out for ya so much!! Amazing little machines they are! It looks great! .It seems like at least from the cover it also saved you good amounts of money. That amount of mulch and that trailer is impressive!! I guess we will see how things hold up..but there were designed for fat people with to many golf clubs driving and consuming massive amounts of fermented beverage..stop and go..up hills. so thats about as much stress test as any vechile can take lol. I've not loaded that much onto one yet...need bigger trailer!!
I've also noticed that the torque of this thing is just amazing..i got steep hills in both places and it goes up 45 degree inclines with no drama at all!
@kvr Just so you guys know I've run mine 10 miles strait to a friends house and it made it ..i charged there though before going back lol. My batteries are also a couple years old but good quality trojans. I need to get a light...have to use a 12volt cordless rechargeable held in my right hand ..while navigating the back roads in pitch dark . I like the single light in the middle though.
Thanks pork for sharing your project. I really like your setup. Esp like that front rack. I dont have any money yet though..figure before 150 rack should get a 150 trailer.
Solar panel came in ..have not iinstalled it but from the looks of it and the simple english only instructions looks to be a breeze to install. Need to buy some rubbber gloves 😉 Quality looks good. Im hoping the cheap price is mostly b/c of difference in materials not quality.. i'll give feed back when i get it on.
