I'm not being negative at all... trying to bring out different things to think about. Taxes on that gargantuan house are??? And Mr. Drug Lord will get out some day and might not like you in his house, even if it is all nice and legal....

that is a good point about taxes, NH has no state income or sales tax, it is made up by very high property taxes, I would be curious on what that is for a place that size, also you don't want to be playing out the final scene from scarface

10K? Dude, those are New Jersey prices. Of course I'm paying that and my house isnt as big and its on 2 acres. but still, I thought taxes that high were unheard of outside of my area.

I've always had to factor in the taxes as part of our mortgage costs when figuring out what we could afford because the taxes are usually 30-50% of our total monthly mortgage bill.

When you add all that up, if it fits into your monthly budget then go for it. If you can bring in extra income to offset it a bit than even better.

good luck, homie.

yeah, biggest thing going for him is the no income or sales tax, if NH had a 8.5% income tax like we do and say DBT and Nader made 100,000 combined then they would be paying 8500 for income tax, plus no sales tax offsets it even more,

*edit* wow I didn't know NJ has no income tax for under 500,000 income, so I guess it would be comparable to NJ

that chart is misleading...NJs highest tax bracket is over 500,000 income and taxed at 8.97%, the next bracket is 80,000-499,999 and that is taxed at 6.37% I think they only showed the highest bracket because Ive been paying state income tax for about 20 years.

We have high state income taxes as well as high property taxes. Sales tax is 7% on everything except basically clothes and food. The cost of living here is horrible. Much better in New Hampshire I'm sure!
