Ive seen the "alaskan" saw mill set up. I also saw some videos of guys using Aluminium ladders for rails/guides that was kind of interesting.

That Alaskan mill that the kilcher's set up was a monster. Scared me just looking at it.

I use to have a alaskan years ago, it worked pretty slick, never thought of a ladder

Pretty cool. My first mill was an Alaskan. Ripping chain is a must with these mills. Used to order my chain online. Works great.

this is my favorite. Not a DIY but looks easy to use and I'll bet you could make some decent money with it.

I like the red gas can on top so he doesn't have to stop a refuel as often.

yeah, we never did get the ripping chain for it, we used it for some things for our first cabin we ever tried building, ended up having a portable sawmill come in
