Very nice build. I love anything remote, and hand built by owner to get away from being bound by debt. Way to go KVR.

Thanks, it was our big goal when we moved to Maine, my goal was to build the house we have now, my wifes was not at the time, looking back on it, it's a good thing we didn't try and build it then, I learned a lot form my mistakes the past 17 years

I like that setup. Had a few ideas on what I wanted to do.... Now Im thinking that I want to go with a whole new idea a Granberg Saw mill. Has anyone used this at all?? Curious how smooth it is, looks really easy.

mine was a little different, the blade was vertical not horizontal like that,

I watched the video, seems they are struggling getting it through, look at the angle the blade is at and how much pressure they are putting on the machine, I think that is going to be a lot of work

Ok so I came across this while doing some random internet hopping....

http://www.harborfre.....-html.html

With Harbor freight they also have a 25% off coupon of which should work. So 1500 for a 22" portable mill. I don't think that's too bad... I'm curious what the payback would be if I cut for others as well.

how would you move that? One thing I don't see is a loading arm on it, the reviews seem pretty good on it

I would weld up a structural frame with a hitch and some trailer tires. Then build a ladder system that unfolds to allow logs to be rolled up. Compact and clean, well for what it is.
