Does anyone have one of the natural pools? The in-ground with plant life? I am wondering how do they stay clean as far as the "green slime" factor that you usually see in ponds?

Or I guess the algae buildup.....let me know as I would love to have one of these.

we only have our normal pond that we made, algae blooms haven't been to bad, I have been trying to think of how to build a slow sand filter with a solar powered pump to help with water clarity

I have seen them made from sections of a Harvestor silo. They looked great!

I have a pic saved somewhere, of one SDF described above. They really do look good. Nobody around here uses metal silos so I have no idea where I could get one cost effectively... Saw some made of big water storage tanks too...mostly in Australia where everybody stores water.
