hey gang - in the planning process of putting a 12x30 prefab dry cabin on a property in upstate ny. they have a spray insulation option for like 5800 bucks - sounded high to me.
it will just be a hunting lodge for the most part and will heat with a wood stove.
anyone get creative with insulation options?
Hey Mike, we looked at some DIY kits several years ago that were pretty reasonable, IIRC they were around 600 dollars, it might be an option. If trying to control the budget, batts are going to be the cheapest
Interested to hear which direction you go, my wife and I have looking at those cabins pretty hard, local company has 12x40's for around 10,000.

Hey Michael, I can second KVR with the DIY kits. I paid $750 for one ($600 online) and got great coverage. Often the local codes will allow you to do a skim coat with the closed cell spray foam (more or less an air barrier) and then finish with bats. I found this to be the best bang for your buck.
@michaelvronsky , I came across this youtube channel the other day that might interest you
