Top of forms are with in 1/4 to 3/8.  Still have to stake it properly, put more spreaders on top of the forms, put in rebar; will do that next weekend.  Tomorrow We plane to line the 'trough'/inside with Tyvek.

I would just pack some gravel along the outside and call it good, after thinking about it and looking at our pictures I think the tyvek is just a waste of time and material, it will be faster just to run a drywall knive down the boards to remove anything from them

Yeah, gotta pack the sides...will use the #1 washed stone I have for that. I was thinking about picking up a few gallons of some thin water preservative, like Thompsons, and putting it in a pump sprayer, then spray the inside of the forms (my poor mans release agent)...sound good?

The only thing I don't like about the forms is that we had to raise them here and there to level...I have some gaps between top of Foam and bottom of form boards.

I didn't use a release agent, in fact I didn't even remember to spray the boards before hand when I poured the bathroom (sprayed the forms with water when I did the patio) and I didn't have any problems.

Are you worried at all about that 1" gap at the base of the forms and the foam where concrete can pour out? I had a small gap at the base of my form boards and when I vibrated all of my concrete went straight through the gap. I may just be looking at it wrong. The tyvek would help with any small gaps in that manner. Just thinking that having the concrete boxed in nicely will prevent any thermal bridges to the soil.

Reach, We wanted to get things set while we had the time/weather/and help; we got the lion's share done.

We are going to lift up/out the rigid and lay down some more washed stone to bring the rigid up so there is no gap.

We need to use the 2x10s again...so some kind of a release agent or barrier is worth it to me...I want to be sure the concrete comes off the forms as easy as possible. I will scape them and hit them with the power washer if needed.

Okay...met with mason and we were able to get height of forms pretty much to wear they need to be.

The plan is that next weekend we will shoot final height with transit and screw the forms to the form boards, need to build the two bulk heads for the stepped part between house and garage, dig down 10 inches and form a 3x3 pad for chimney, lay rebar.

Buddy is letting me use his metal cutting chop saw to cut the rebar, that will help.

For the forms, yeah we are going to spray the inside with a water seal, Mason, said it will help in cleaning off the form boards for re use.

I think we got it pretty much figured out.

Just a bit concerned about bend the # 5 re bar.  It will either be okay or horrible...I am aiming for okay.

Can you get some 1" galvanized pipe? 2 5' pieces should suffice. Run over one with it sticking out about 1' from under the wheel, slip the rebar in halfway (or until desired distance from bend), then slip the second piece over the end and lift up. I used 3' pipe for 1/2" rebar. Without a hydraulic press, this would be what I'd do. If it's not strong enough then I'd use a 10' piece to increase your leverage.
