Pretty simple. Just pounded four stakes into the ground and wrapped chicken wire around it.

I began by tossing some 10-10-10 in there, just for the heck of it, then some wet leaves, and then food scraps. Later I found this trash can that was full of ash from the corn stove and so I dumped all that in there as well.

Its going to get a ton of chicken poop in the next couple of weeks. Then more leaves and scraps of course. Im hoping that next year its good enough to start using.

I really dont know much about composting at all. I plan on picking up the Rodale book soon though and that should help.

Nice work B. I may build one like that to hold anything I can't get in my compost tumbler (that has yet to be built also...).

Nice. I'm looking at getting a bigger compost going at my place, but wasn't sure how best to approach. The city has a compost program so we currently use that all the time but I'd like to have my own soil as a result. I'll have to look into that book you mentioned.
