I have a fair amount of hearing loss...lol...I guess I will be okay.
You know I am way over building this beast of a house...so at least I know there is no way it is falling in on me.
I just try to listen to my mason...once I ask too many questions he tells me that we only need to be smarter than the concrete.
I then tell him...that I have been cutting on this 2x4 all day and it's still too short.

Gravel are you wanting to wait on the anchor bolts just to ensure that they don't coincide with any blocks? I loathe drilling concrete (probably cause I'm doing it wrong), so I would always advocate wet activities. Couldn't you also get tapered plastic rod and set them in when wet? Get the right diameter and you never have to drill...

Well, anchor bolts will wait til we pour the cores, I am using 4ft threaded rod for anchor bolts to really tie the wall and top plate together.
I think what you are asking is about 'pining the foundation', rebar (threaded rod in my case, I have a free supply) comes up from the footing and up through the cells of a couple of runs of block, when you pour concrete around that rebar in the middle of the core it locks it in and keeps it from shifting in or out. I probably don't need to pin the wall, since the slab will hold it from kicking in and the back fill will keep it from kicking out. But's it's quick to do, cheap, the right thing to do, and I only get one chance to do it.
Some people will wire rebar right in the footer with the footing pour and it's a great way to do it. For me, I am taking the easier approach (drill and tap in rebar).
It won't be bad to drill, the concrete won't be too cured when I do it...I also have a hammer drill and the impact/masonry bits for it..
