So i'm moving in a not so big loft, so to optimize space i decided to use volume and not just square footage. Having 10ft high ceiling also help.
To do that i decided to make a mezzanine bed (or loft bed i think it's called), that will serve as storage space under it.
My first plan was to put it high enough to put some hiboy cabinets i have under it. Then my friend reminded me that i would probably want to sit on the bed and maybe also kneel...
So we took some measurement of me kneeling and substracted it to the ceiling height. Can't put the cabinets under it now.
Took some 2x6 lumber and started to build the rough structure with my friend. Took us about 2hrs and we were done. See picture of result, it's not pretty but it holds.
Next step will be to put plywood top and also close both ends with plywood to give the legs some more strength.
