Damn, a quick google showed that most people just build a sister wall over the SIP panel or try to avoid plumbing in exterior walls and that most SIPs come with standard chases for electrical at 16" and 45" from the bottom, vertical chases 4' on center.

Just so that all technologies feel equally represented here, I'm adding some info on pre-cast concrete. However, I think that it may be out of the scope of most DIYers:

That thing is awesome! I'd seen those a few years back when looking at retention systems. Think you could get away with stuco-ing it around the edges to "seal" it? If it weren't for insects I would love to see an internal wall left exposed.

Can't imagine why not, the wire frame would work great for that

After seeing some deep excavation going on around the city I looked into the method that they used. It is formally called "Soldier Pile Wall" construction and is often used for building retaining walls. I'm not yet sure how to best utilize it for the bermed houses but just wanted to post up an easy YouTube I found. The tiebacks he mentions are used for super deep excavations. I'll post up some pictures of the site around the corner later today.
