It is a Felder 610, in single phase.

The power feeder is pneumatic and should arrive in the next month. Needed this for resawing book-matched wood for musical instruments. Tone woods like Rosewood, Pacific Big Leaf Maple, Mahogany etc.

Plus I wanted to start playing with veneers again.

Wanted something bigger (only 4 hp, 20 would be better) and in three phase but still sharing a shop I helped build this past year with a old friend.

Getting close to finishing a 3-4 compartment kiln inside a Grumman van then it is putting together a 50" throat wood mill. With a 30' table and 20 tonnes of hydraulics.

Try this again.

I have been making cutting boards for a few folks but they have not been testing the finishes for me. Make these out of off cuts which do not make the grade for tone wood.

Picture is a little wonky.PBL-Maple-Cutting-Board-2.JPG

Hessian they look great! What are you using to finish them? I've used both mineral oil and beeswax on ours here at home but have never done a side by side.

This one was three coats of a product called Watco Butcher Block Oil and Finish

Not very happy with it as it scratches pretty easily.

Hmm, the "Poison" part would worry me as well.

If not allowed to dry between coats it can be poisonous. Dry time is set at 72 hours between coats.
