I researched these probably about 15 to 20 years ago, always seemed like an easy option for the DIY'er

When I went to Alfred State (Southern Tier of NY) there was a builder back there that loved them and that's what he used on almost all of his builds.  This was back in the 80s.  I got together with one of my professors, who was also a big farmer and owned the local Real Estate Company, and got to know more about the permanent wood foundations.  They were amazing and made total sense.  I believe they are truly 100 year plus foundation.

Then I got a Masters from Oswego...it was no better...I am lucky to have brain cells left...hard to believe I graduated with a 4.0 in the end.
