That's my long term plan. In the meantime, 45mpg is hard to beat.
I've started compacting (by hand) and am wondering if before I put the re-bar in, should I lay down a plastic barrier? As the slab is at the highest point and has adequate draining, I am not very concerned about water/vapor coming up through the slab. However, I know that this is common for living spaces.
Thanks for the help!

I think that for the bathroom addition, I will put insulation under the slab for that reason as well as keeping the heating/cooling bill down. Concrete is not a very good thermal barrier. However, as this is a patio, I can't see the advantage. I know what you're talking about in Mexico, there it's likely just a funding issue.
Bought a 4.5mil sheet (the only 6 mil sheet they had was $100 and it was 1000sf and I only need 250. Also found that they sold me 3/8" Rebar. Instead of fussing over it, I'm just going to keep it (better than none) and move forward with that. Helps because I don't have a 1/2" masonry drill bit, just a 3/8"
For now, more tamping and spraying.
