So I tried it out, and sadly there is just not enough pressure. I was going over the re-build in my head and I thought about another problem: I don't live in the desert any more, so what happens when winter hits? Answer: you get a 55 gallon ice cube that's what. So it's back to square 1 on this one unfortunately

what about building a rack and placing the tank above the washer? would that give enough pressure? Is the building warm enough to keep it from freezing?
I had a similar thought. I'm still toying with the idea actually. The problem is that to get proper water pressure (the same or better than from a grid faucet) your water tank needs to be I believe 8 feet or better above the outlet. we just don't have that much head space in the the washer is supposed to live in. I can get maybe 2.5 feet total taking the dimensions of the tank into consideration. Also, 55 gallons of water is HEAVY and I'm not 100% about the structural integrity of the shed it's self. It makes me kind of leery of cutting up some nice post making materials for a project that could end up not working at all. Not to mention the potential hazards... I'm worried that the spin cycle could dislodge the tank or some other Murphy's Law situation I haven't accounted for. (fyi do NOT attempt to stop a full drum of water from rolling downhill with your body, it's not a very good time)
