Anyone who has ever built a log home before will tell you that, no matter how many square feet the project is, it is an undertaking of manhood-testing proportions... literally. We are talking a labor of love that fills a gap that we often don't realize we have - this is to do with male rites of passage, consumerism, screwed-up socially imposed value systems and subtle indoctrination from Davy Crockett and Grizzly Adams...
In saying that (and many will nod their heads here), once the goal is accomplished, there is a feeling of contentment that goes down to the roots.
It's just not the same doing it for someone else... this is usually a once in a lifetime monument to your perseverance and ability.
