Thought you guys might like to see this.

This is a set up my buddy uses in his pole barn (26 x 38 with loft, only insulation is R10 under the slab).

It's an electric on demand water heater.

K,

He uses it only when he is going to work in the pole barn.  He turns it on and says it takes about an hour to get the floor up to temp...not a green house but decent to work in vs. 15 degree weather outside.  He is just starting to insulate the walls at this time.

He ran 100 amp sub to the pole barn from his house.  Overall he has seen about a 10-12% increase per year in his electric use...he does use the pole barn pretty much every day and is doing projects that he never did before...so I think it's pretty good.

I like the electric on demand boiler, not expense or screwing around with a vent/chimney.  Whether you go with electric or propane ... you still need electric..just more if you go all electric.

But I know I need to read up on these more and learn more.
