Still can lift the front and move it by hand. I'm liking this thing!!!! Too bad I didn't write down a plan for the build, but I think I can do it again.

I'm gonna have to agree with KVR, that thing looks awesome. I was planning on building a teardrop to accommodate a queen size bed (I need the length) but am leaning more and more towards the configurability of the bed that you included. Diggin the colors too. What other features do you plan to include? Kitchen, shower, etc. (the shower is the one thing that I would love to be able to include if possible).

I considered the teardrop, but really like the idea of being able to stand up in it, and have more than just a bed as in a teardrop. I plan to keep it simple, and use a 2 burner propane burner , and heater that will be tucked away, a sawdust toilet, a 5 gallon water storage container that will also be tucked away. I will incorporate a small GE air conditioner that will be mounted on the tongue and fitted at the bottom front blowing under the bed area. Not sure on the shower system yet. I only plan on having two electrical outlets, a low watt light fixture, and the ac outlet. 30 amp breaker for service once I find out how to wire it properly. Simple low cost electrical system is all I need. If I cant fit a shower in it we will be near shower facilities. Either way it beats camping without ac or heat, and sleeping in a good bed is a big plus. I am open to any suggestions on any of this. Especially the electrical wiring. Keep in mind I want to keep the weight down to under 1200lbs. Right now I can still pull it around by hand, and I'm liking that.

I'm gonna have to agree with ICRI agreeing with me, eddie, you are in the hotbed of the small house movement, which are severely overpriced, I think there is a niche you could fill

I can definitely understand the weight concern as I will be towing mine behind a little Turbo Diesel VW Golf.

As far as power generation goes, do you know if you will be able to plug into the campsites or are you planning on a small generator or solar setup? Seems like the batteries required for a solar setup would hurt more than the generator would, but then again generators are noisy. I've also heard of piggybacking off of your vehicle as a generator, would just need an inverter for the 12V DC to 120V AC. My experience with batteries or PV systems is limited though. If you do have to up the weight for any reason I would think that the distribution would help. so maybe play with the placement before you make anything permanent.

here is our solar generator we built for around 300, it should be more than enough for what something that size would need

Nice! Two quick questions though: the square sized hole that you cut into the side, is that for a power outlet? I never saw anything mounted there. And you do not have anything connected to the AC correct? Also, how do you calculate the watt hours? Is it simply that it can provide 570 watts for one hour or 57 watts for 10 hours (without the solar panel)? And for the solar panel is there any way to figure out how long it will take to recharge it once fully depleted? I'm assuming your 40 watts would take 570wh/40w = 14.25hours? I know that's a lot of questions but electricity is... far from my forte.

Seems like that would be a great resource for Eddie as he can just toss it inside when he's on the move and pull it out when he needs it. Nice lightweight option and an easy weekend project.
