trying to figure out the cheapest, quickest way to do the cabin, I know I can knock out the 1st floor shell with the dry stack method in about a week or so, I could stone veneer the outside versus the slip form method, anyone have experience with it?

No experience but knowing how you built your walls, their strength, and the ease of finding materials I would think it is an idea worth exploring. I saw someone online rent a stone saw, like a tile saw, and they sourced a bunch of stones and cut them in half. That gave them a smooth side for putting on the wall.

didn't even think of cutting my own, the guy who put in the driveway and pad has a gravel pit about 1/4 mile down the road, he said I could take my trailer and pick through it if I wanted

That sounds like an awesome deal. My biggest challenge with wanting stone is transporting it.
