Just be sure to put the stone wall to the south.
I was debating between this and the cob, which do you think would have a greater thermal mass?
Thinking about it more, I think either would work well as a thermal mass, but not as exterior walls. If that makes sense. Strawbale exterior walls with a cob or stone wall placed to take the maximum amount of sun during the winter, but be entirely inside, would be the most efficient.

No, like an inner wall 10-15 feet from the windows, could be used as a room divider, probably wouldn't need to go to the ceiling, but would absorb sun throughout the day and release the warmth at night. in summer shouldn't be getting any sun and could become cool during the night and absorb extra heat during the day.
