I like Harbor Freight.  If I buy a tool and burn it up, that tells me it might be worth it to buy a better quality tool.  I just don't buy any tools that require precise tolerances to run, like pneumatic nailers.  I've never had one from HF that worked well out of the box.

Newsletter bought me survival knife last year from there, think he paid 8 bucks. I'm going to go do something awesome with it to show harbor freight doesn't suck. This may take a few days.

I second that on the clamps; those things rock for the money! I shop at Harbor Freight quasi-regularly and have had great luck with some of their stuff.

Things from HF that I own and think are worthwhile:

  • 3 Ton Floor Jack
  • 1 Ton Shop Crane (Foldable)
  • Crowbars, Prybars, & breakerbars (cheap and reliable; I own a bunch)
  • Transmission scissor jack

Harbor Freight gets a bad rap from guys that abuse tools; if you treat them right, a lot of their stuff isn't too bad actually. I frequent the store here in Flint.
