that's what I was thinking, plus they have an advanced class where you build stuff

Welding, Advanced$139 Register

This 8-week course will focus on your interests and projects. You will be able to concentrate on a particular style of welding while using the welding procedure of your choice, such as torch welding, brazing, soldering, mig welding or spot welding. You should have a project in mind before registering for this course (e.g. woodstove, small trailer, toolbox, etc.). Materials fee: $75, payable to the instructor at the first class.

So I could get a start on trailer frame, or build one of these bad boys

I got all my welding stuff a few birthdays ago. I did not get an auto darkening helmet but used my father in laws. He needed that spare back a few weeks ago. I will not be welding without one. It's the best thing to use.
