So I decided on a whim to build a tree house for the kids. I pulled a KVR and just bought some wood and got 'er done.... well... not done yet. I want to grab some pallets and pull them apart and use the slats for the railing. I also need to build the stairs and a bucket pulley system I've rigged up.
Pre-build -- tractor loaded up with supplies and ready to go.
Getting the base put together.
Platform being tested.
Almost done but running out of wood and screws.
From afar.
It's a little over 8ft to the floor and the rail is 3 feet, so over 11 feet tall. Maybe a little high for my kids now but they will grow into it.
I plan on building a wooden ladder -- straight up and down that would lead up into the tree house. I think I will add some supports other other side so that there is plenty of strength for a buddy and me to use it as a deer stand.

OK, updates. It is amazing what you can do with a 5lb box of screws, some treated lumber, and some antsy kids.
Bought some pre-built treated fencing from Menards -- I got this far yesterday morning before work:
And finished the railing and hung a bucket on a pulley today before work.
I just have some minimal stuff to finish up -- it is basically done. Now the wife asked for a way to hang swings so I think I will have a beam coming off of one side to support the swings.
Quick question -- would you guys stain this? Leave it as is? It is almost all treated wood except for some scrap pieces. My wife nixed the idea of the kids painting it.
