Do you think they sprayed it with high heat paint or did any other kind of prep on it? Pretty good thinking imo.

Most tubs are enameled, so you shouldn't have to do anything to it, as long as the enamel isn't chipped, it shouldn't rust

My has that at his cottage. works well with all the holes to air the fire. they didnt do anything special to the tub to prepare it.
