shouldn't be to bad, he wants to put under drainage through the yard, parking lot, by the barn and the back field and take it to the drainage ditch that we have on the side of the property, depending on the estimate, I might just have them dig another pond in the back field, drain everything to that, fence in the field so the pigs can utilize the whole area and the water source and then just take the overflow from that to the drainage

I am in a similar boat -- except our land is mostly flat. We have a crazy high water table right now and I want to put in drainage tile to get the water to run off to another location. I don't think I have anywhere to put the water because of the flat elevation -- I am considering getting a pond put in and then pumping water from the pond to the creek when we have too much water.
I was just going to ask a local excavator what to do -- is there someone with a certain skillset you would recommend? Or a certain type of business? I need to know what to look/search for.
I would ask around for recommendations from locals, the guys we use just do groundwork, they usually charge me 100 bucks a hour, there is smaller 2 man landscaping business's that have a mini excavator that could do the job and charge less per hour, but the amount of time that it would take them to do the same work would be much greater, I also try to use the same guys for everything, that way they are usually quick to respond when I need them, they don't try and screw me over and we have a good working relationship. What about the guys that did the work on the house? Can they recommend anyone?
