Watched with the wife last night. While we were watching her eyes got all big and she turned to me and said, I don't think we have enough canned goods. We need to stock up more!
She also wanted to know what kind of people don't have a regular hand crank can opener.
The kid's mom on the phone says the power's back on? Ok, we dont need your gas and food anymore. See ya, neighbor!

I am a bit late to the party on this but I enjoyed the movie overall. I thought it showed the futility that most Americans would have if a situation were to actually happen. I also don't think they portrayed the prepper family very well. it appeared like the dad and the son were the only ones actively involved in the prepping lifestyle. Also, I think it was stupid to show the boyfriend all the stores but i think that was more for the audience's sake than anything. The bunker needing fuel (the reason he went outside and was caught) was really stupid. why put all this work into a bunker only to leave the fuel unsecured across the compound?
The one question that never got answered for me was the boy who's mom was a nurse. I assumed his mom was killed or trapped (why else would she leave him alone for 10 days) but what happened to him in the end? It shows him hearing noises in his basement (that I couldn't hear) so he goes to investigate with his revolver and goPro, and then... nothing. Every other group had closure to their story but this one.
Can anyone tell me what was supposed to happen?
the washing machine came on and the lights came on and his mom walked in the door, right around 1:24
