When you think about it, it's sooooo primitive.  Barely a step above smoke signals or drums.  And to think how far communication has come in the past 178 years.  Wonder what Samuel Morse (or Edison for that matter) would have thought of smartphones?

great question, I wonder who the future will think are the great inventors of our life time, are there really any out side of corporations?
