its bad here.
we buy a lot of fresh produce and go through about 1 gallon of milk every day and half or so (two growing boys and a father that loves the stuff.) we've already seen our weekly bill go up 10-15 bucks a week depending on what we're buying. if things continue this badly (and at this point there's no reason why they won't) we'll likely see our food bill increase as much as 100-120 bucks a month over the next 30-45 days.

yep.
for example, Dec 1st of last year 2 gallons of milk cost 5.75. i went yesterday and it cost me 7.00. considering i make that purchase 2-3 times a week thats an additional 2.50-3.75 a week or 130-195 a year. and prices haven't evened out yet, so it could end up even higher.

without a doubt, yes. it also makes me want to grow as much of my own food as is physically possible.
when i get my settlement in the next 9-12 months the wife and i are going to be making some serious decisions about where we're going to buy a home/property. as soon as we get word on an estimate of the dollar amount we're going to start looking at properties.

i'd like to move to the midwest, but if business continues to pick up out here in CA we'll just stay.
i have to be here anyway for a pretty big lawsuit i'm a part of so we won't even be considering making any moves until that is finished. plus we have an awesome support system here (my parents live .75 miles away) and a ton of friends. more and more the wife and i are thinking that when our boys are grown and out of the house that we're going to move to the mountains permanently. 10-15 acres in the high sierras is what i'd like to do.
