Not sure if I need that level of prep.  Would love to see someone on Survivor have these though.  Wonder if they would get the boot?? (no pun intended)

Wow!  Someone with a crappier laptop than me.  lol  I'm not familiar with the fire cord (and I'm too lazy to google it) but these are shoe laces that seem to be made from paracord (or something close) and on the end(s) under the ferule, is a small fire stick.  So you cut the plastic ferule off, and remove the fire stick and you have fire.  I believe in being prepared, but like I said this takes it to the next level, and I don't really think I need that.

I like the firecord as well assuming  that it has the same qualities as paracord 550 and isn't much more expensive.  The flint shoelaces are just too gimicky for me to get behind.
