It's a mixed bag.  While it's annoying to have to deal with all that, I can also imagine what it's like when NOT having one goes bad.  I mean our current house, I heard the previous family used to have kids that would ride dirt bikes in the front yard until it was a mud pit.  Or having 2-3 junker cars on blocks in the front yard.
