you keep hearing store what you eat, unfortunately in todays world a lot of people don't really cook at home that much and a large percentage of their meals are takeout and/or out of the box meals. There's nothing wrong with that, it is just the world that we have become, everything is about convenience. Well when you start talking about a 30, 60, or 90 day food supply, that can be a challenge for people. Learning how to cook and being able to shop for basic supplies is a huge part of building a pantry. This site does a good job of giving you a example shopping list and 40 recipes to make out of it. Now I'm not saying go buy everything they have listed, but I do recommend getting a good cookbook or recipes from online and experiment with things your family likes and then create your own shopping lists and recipe cards. Then once you have that done start looking at ways to grow and produce the things that you are buying. This won't happen over night, it takes time,but I think you'll be far ahead of the game in the long run
