pretty disturbing imagery

Definitely.  Hard to believe.  It's like I'm looking at a photoshop.

63 trillions gallons of water?  Not to let my stupidity show, but where did it go?  You'd think between that and the ice caps melting, you'd need to build an ark.

And this is lifting the ground?  I thought the ground (out west) was sinking due to the aquifer being drained.

agriculture I would imagine, they are draining more than is being replaced, yeah not sure on the uplift thing, posted the other article on the sinking a couple months ago

wells running dry

"Lockman said some residents fear their landlord will evict them because their well went dry or are afraid the county's Department of Child Support Services will take their children away because they no longer have water -- a rumor the county has been working to dispel, he added."

Simply unfounded!  Why would anyone ever think the government would want to take their kids away?  Or evict them?  Just more worry mongering.

/sarcasm

Also, I'm sure there are 0 illegals in that community, and that has no relevancy as to why people aren't reporting.

Maybe not. Some years ago I was in a situation where the owner of the gas well on my property turned off the gas. Long story that I won't go into.

It was the middle of winter with temps in the teens and shingle digits. In my attempt to get someone to help make this jerk turn the gas back on, I called social services.  I was told that if they come out and there is no heat they would take the kids.

My remarks were purely sarcasm.  I've read enough stories to know that the government will take your kids in heart beat.  Also, I know that if you don't have heat or water that at a minimum they could take your kids and/or even condemn your property.
