Grabbed this game this morning, just got done playing it for an hour or so. it's downloadable content only, and it runs I believe 2400 MS points. I stopped in at gamestop and the download code was only $15.
There are 3 basic game modes during play: general travel between events, climbing and combat.
The walking bits are pretty mundane, there are a few nooks and crannies and sometimes resources are hidden, but for the most part it's get from point A - B.
The climbing can get pretty hectic, especially if you mess up during your climb. Your Stamina meter drops pretty quick so if you don't execute pretty much on cue you can get into trouble really fast. The platforming controls are sort of weird as well - it wants to play like assassin's creed but requires a button input every time you have to pull yourself up onto a ledge. This can be kind of frustrating when you are low on stam, and get to the top of the ledge just to have your guy shimmy left or right instead of getting up. A minor flaw that doesn't take very much getting used to at all.
The combat feels less like a fight and more like a puzzle is the best way to describe it. Between bullet management, using a surprise attack to get the upper hand and saving ammo by spooking a guy into surrender (with your empty gun lol) or backing them up to a ledge and giving them a shove, you have a few options, but it seems only one real good way to win the fight. It generally involves identifying the boss or the toughest goon (the one with the gun) and allowing them to approach so you can neck slice them with your machete. After that I usually had to draw down and shoot another guy. Killing someone with the machete once the fight has started is a button mashing fight, and if you take a hit during the struggle you lose it, so it's not advisable to do this unless your opponent is the last one left.
Resource management is the other part of this game. They did a pretty good job in regards to the difficulty to resource ratio. I'm playing on regular (which has more stuff for you to find) and I have still felt short handed pretty much the whole time. It certainly gives you a feeling of "I just don't have enough..."
All in all it seems like a good game. It's been fun so far, I will give an additional update sometime next week once I have had more of a chance to sit down with it.

Thanks! I am kind of getting the feeling that this game has kind of tipped it's hand early on. I just got the grappling hook this morning which provides a little change in the overall physics of the game but it still seems almost repetitive. It's a difficult game as well however. I guess to describe the way it plays is sort of like one big puzzle broken up into sections. Depending on the section you will be climbing or fighting or whatever on the way to your goal. So it's a lot of trial and error.
I will say this for the game even though it kind of feels like it's a game with a great base that just got underdeveloped: As a fan of the survival horror genre, for the price I paid I am extremely satisfied. It has been a very entertaining game and like the trailers said, it's almost like a movie.

Been meaning to put my 2 cents in here for a few days. I d/led this on ps3 a couple of weeks ago, and I finished it last week. I liked the game-play and the story, but I felt like the game was way too short. It does tend to get a bit repetitive. Seems like every mission started feeling the same; sneak around, surprise attack, finish mission. OK game overall, with the price factoring in greatly, but overall just way too short.
