yep it's growing, the rocks are funneling into it and the pavement is starting to split on the bottom right

you think it's a sink hole or a worm hole to another dimension? Brb, going to go jump in the hole.

I have one in my yard, about 5 foot from my house.  Not as bad as that, and fairly stable.  I've stuck a rake handle into it and it seems to have a solid bottom.  Not sure why or how it's formed.  If I get a chance, I'll take and post some pics.

we're sinkhole brothers!

Not a worm hole :(

But at least I have a broken ankle from jumping into the hole.

Well, we had some pretty heavy rains last night and the worm hole sank some more, we're going to give it another 24 hours to see what happens

Good luck with that, K. I want to see pictures.

My entire dirt road looks like this right now. Our minivan got stuck on Sunday, my birthday, with the wife and kids inside. We eventually had to get it towed out -- after I got covered in mud. I took yesterday off and manually unloaded 8 yards of stone and sand at various points on the road -- it didn't help much. I hope sunshine and good weather dries everything out over the next few days.

happy belated birthday pork

well they started digging

the hole was about 5 feet across and 4 foot deep at this point, they were thinking there must have been a old cistern or something there at on time but we couldn't find anything, the other thought is the field behind the parking lot is still pretty frozen so the melting of the asphalt and the ground underneath it couldn't drain properly, the hole was filling with water as we were digging

but where does 3 yards of gravel and clay just disappear to? This does leave me a little concerned as far as if there re any other spots under the parking lot that have a void in them, luckily it's a small portion, our main parking lot is all gravel

so we filled it back in and compacted the best we could until the ground drys out more

Wow, what a "sinking" feeling that must be... Smile

No, in all seriousness though, hope you get that fixed K; bum deal.
