We would stay put. Food supply is good, water aint a problem and we are close enough to family that defense is pretty good. I doubt anyone is %100 ready but we should do ok. We are in the process of buying some land a few miles away and its a better SHTF location, gravel road, on a hill and surrounded by like-minded family.

I live in a city. I would get out of here after a day or so, I figure after a couple days all hell would break loose and I want nothing to do with that. A few of my friends talked about this while we were camping a few months back. We decided that were we camp would be our meeting place. After that I have no idea.

You sir, are the correct about the cities. Within a week after a hurricane chopped power and overflowed the city pumping stations...people got back to being what they truly are. I remember 12-18 hour shifts, burglaries, looting, fighting in the free water lines. No power=no fuel. warm weather with no a/c = people outside all the time. I remember ems and hospital ers overflowing with bullshitting morons restricting access from those that really needed it.

The national guard unit in our city was activated and they rode with us on patrol on mids. Citywide curfew implemented. They were unarmed (lol) and anxious to get in it and anyone out past curfew was fair game.

People weren't even hungry or thirsty yet....

Lots of people stayed despite the conditions because they were worried about their stuff. Most people in the cities will stay, until they are forced out by the govt or by conditions.

My suggestion. If you are in the city, financially prepare for leaving. Banks will be closed so you won't be withdrawing cash. Perhaps an emergency credit card, few hundred bucks.

And the monkey presses the button.

The lady is holding it for us, she's turned down several people and said it's ours.

My son works on the road and is heading out west for a 6-8 week job and when he gets home he'll have the cash to buy it without the bank being involved. He owns where we are now so we can really set up the new place the way we want.

The main reason we want the place is the two natural springs and that it's old family property from back in the old days. Can't wait...

I'm in a good place here. Live or die or "glowing green" will be done right here. You can't live your life in fear or it's not really a life at all. I feel like we live our lives in a way that is close to the land, it's simple and there's nowhere any better that we could go to. Sure... if we were millionaires we could build some house that looks like a prison with a 12 foot fence but again that's no life. We have room for lots more gardens, we have livestock, we have water. We have a means of cooking and heating and canning and dehydrating. We are hunters and gatherers... I can give you stitches, lance an abcess, treat you with herbal remedies and pray for you!!! We have everything that a homesteader from the 1800's would have had and I hope that in the end we are resourceful enough to persevere as well as many, and better than most.
