Wow, that's crazy.

Agreed, so important to have a Get Home Bag in your car or truck.

you never know what's gonna happen.

And I know it's easier said than done (I'm horrible with it), but always keep your gas tank at least half full. First it minimizes condensation in your gas tank, but more importantly, you never know what could happen and how fast it could happen.

Wow, looks rough there. I have been meaning to get a bag together for each of our cars; this is a good kick in the pants for me to get on that. Thanks for sharing.

Crazy situation! My sister lives in one of the satellite towns outside of Atlanta. It was total chaos, madhouse, uncontrollable situation. Thankfully she and her family stayed home that day just in case. They did fine but sat and watched the traffic, wrecks and walking hordes go by. She is supposed to be moving uup here with me in a year or two.... hopefully this helps motivate her. Can you imagine the breakdown of community if this had been something longer term? It would be a lawless, uncontrollable free for all as soon as the food ran low....

Yep, this is my first day off since the storm came through. It was crazy to say the least.

Couple more to help tell the story.

Agree with the kick in the pants comments above, motivate to keep a few items handy.

Nice sign, a lot of people were out helping, but will comment more later.
