I do believe that people are tuned into what is going on around us even if they don't know what it is. Some figure it out in time, others not so much. I have to work around a bunch of highly educated idiots who thought it was funny when they found out that I prepped. "oh, you are one of those are you". One guy even tried to make me look stupid, asked how much food did I have, why I had it and how I was I going to protect everything. Then when he found out that his grand scheme was backfiring on him he went to water and wanted to know how I stored so much, 27,000 gallons.

I said, its easy I call it a swimming pool and in times of need it is water stored up. The look on his face was priceless, he has a pool as well and never thought of as stored water.

Anyway, in the past few months several of the folks that was giving me grief have come and asked how to do certain things to start getting ready but not go all in. Where to start, what to get, how much. One lady even pushed for recipes that have for cooking from scratch. And by the way, she is now a fan of the peasant bread.

People are getting more worried by the day and are starting to wake up. It is our duty to do our best to help them live a more simple life where they can be more self reliant.

i was a little surprised that the Housekeeper just sort of came along for my ride with little questioning and has been fully invested. A few weeks ago when she said "we need more bullets, ALOT more" i knew she was the keeper. She approached me the other day to ask where we should build the root cellar. not SHOULD we build a root cellar. We had never even discussed one before. I was also surprised that her Mom didn't even bat an eye. My dad & step mon are coming out next year, will be interesting to see their reaction to what is going up our little gulch. She is pretty liberal, but the old man is a Texas redneck at heart and has a profound distrust for the government going back to his time in Viet Nam. I think he might like what he sees. We've never really talked about it.

It's amazing really, some people change their views over night, some slowly over time, and some... well some never do. Hopefully some good conversations happen this weekend with your brother.
